Midwinter 2019 Writing Retreat

Saturday, January 19, 2019

9:30 am – 3:30 pm

sunset-1903136_1920During this retreat, we will focus on the power of myth and the mundus imaginalis, or the World of Imagination. Our work will center on cultivating creativity and seeking ways to enter and interact with the world of myths and archetypes that, according to scholar James Hillman, and inspired by the work of psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung, exist not within us, but around us. We will work with the ways myths, fairy tales, and folk tales undergird all good storytelling, no matter the genre, no matter the culture, and can even help us make sense of ourselves in relation to the world around us. Winter is a season particularly rich in symbolism. Come prepared to do some meditative and creative work to access your own portal to the mundus imaginalis.

Bring your preferred writing implements and your favorite winter dish to share for a potluck meal. I will provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, filtered water, and light refreshments throughout the day.

$100. Number of participants are limited to 5. Contact Crystal for details and registration.
